Trey Novosad

photo of Trey Novosad Thomas (Trey) N. Novosad III is the Director, Complex Appeals and a member of the Case Resolution Team with a special focus on complex industrial properties.

Prior to his employment at Popp Gray & Hutcheson, Trey was the Executive Director of the Valero Energy Corporation Ad Valorem Tax Department since 2002. Mr. Novosad was directly or indirectly responsible for the property tax function associated with Valero's assets which includes refineries, retail centers, inventory, pipelines, and terminals located across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean.

Mr. Novosad began his professional career as a valuation engineer for Capitol Appraisal Group Inc. In this position, Mr. Novosad was responsible for annually appraising complex and industrial properties with a cumulative market value of over $20 billion dollars. These properties included over 60% of the refining capacity in the State of Texas and 25% of the ethylene capacity in the United States.

Mr. Novosad received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 1998 from Texas A&M University. Mr. Novosad is a registered Engineer in Training with the State of Texas, an applicant member of the American Society of Appraisers, and a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
